19 of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard courts

A resurgent Medvedev secured his initial title for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition final.

Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a torrid season, achieving just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the US Open.

The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in especial - resulted in him dropping out of the top ten and ultimately separating with former mentor Gilles Cervara.

Currently training with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily improved in the past month - culminating in a closely contested three-set win over challenger Corentin Moutet.

It is Medvedev's first championship since the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt from that period of 2023.

The win also signifies he has won 21 titles at twenty-one distinct competitions.

"It's the first time I have attended a event with my two daughters together, so to win a championship is particularly special," stated tennis professional the champion.

"This title is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter her name was born was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had lost his past six championship matches, including in that event in the past months.

Medvedev's retrieving approach and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had prompted commentators to doubt if his ability to compete at the elite level was over.

Yet the player has made changes in the past month, striving to approach the net and perform positively, supported by an enhanced service.

The champion fought back from a break down in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, taking four of the final five games to go ahead.

Both players traded breaks in the second set before the challenger, striving for his initial ATP Tour victory, took control to push for a final set.

Moutet defended 4 early-game chances in a close final set before the champion broke to fifteen to secure the win.

Fittingly, the winner earned the title with a point at the net, with the Frenchman failing to control a shot after a lengthy match.
